Greetings from Caboose
Yeah I know this site is dead, but it still gets several hundred hits a day so it will serve it's purpose to help another site grow. Recently I have run across a website that is very much like this one when it first started out. This site is Anidrive. Anidrive is a Megaupload based anime download site that uploads quality files just like this site used to. This site is forum based so the download links are better protected against bots and don't get reported. The selection there is small, but I plan to help them with download requests. Please visit the site, and if there was a show you wanted to download from here but the links were dead just request it their and I will be happy to upload it for you.
Edit: For those who got the email I sent, sorry I forgot to change the title from the last email I sent out. To clerify so their isn't any confusion, this site is not run by me, i'm not even staff, but I do plan to upload there on a request basis.
Edit 2: Yeah that site died and dissapeared off the face of the earth while i was moving. oh well

I just stopped by after visiting a few other dead anime sites and realized that this site deserves a post explaining it's history and how it came to its current state of affairs. My name is Caboose and I started this site which was taken over by FMA1394 at the end of its life.FMA1394 if you find this feel free to fill in any info about after i left or delete this is you don't like it, I'm just rather board at the moment.
Anime-Stop started as a pet project of mine in August 2007, the exact date i don't remember anymore and don't care to look up.At the time I was an uploader for a number of other anime sites (Copy-Cat, DGrayManAnime.com, PoT central, Anime Tower, and half a dozen others) just for the sheer fun of sharing anime with those that had trouble finding it. Large indexing sites weren’t nearly as common then as they are today. Posting animate so many different places though began to become a burden since I had just started my second year of college, so I thought I would try making my own site and posting my anime there, I had about 180 animes uploaded at the time. Sadly, knowing nothing about html of site building the only place I had to build this site was freewebs, later known as Webs.
The original site was made with a free account and had 3-4 animes per page since I had a limit of 50 pages. Soon I realized this site looked like site this way, course it did after I changed it too. God I wish I still had screen shots of all the old layouts we went though. The current one looks awesome compared to some of the early ones. I bought a premium account and rebuilt the site. The model I had for my site was the once great AnimeBreaker which is still around but only a shadow of its former self. Anyway with the rebuilt site up, this was about early October, I got a small staff of billy, epsilon, and myself. Billy and epsilon soon deserted, or I chasedthem off, I can’t remember.
All went well for a while there were ups and downs thought the course of our 2 year run but I got through them. Our original file host was divshare and mediafire until both turned gay and started deleting files left and right, around December 2007. I did a mass reupload to Megaupload and had everything back in about 2 weeks. Here we went through a LONG stretch of awesomeness that lasted about a year when we suffered a HUGE mass delete from Megaupload and had to do a lot of reuploading again.
After this with the start of 2009 we saw huge jumps in site traffic and I decided to join with another anime site called AnimeBlend whose admin I knew from AnimeTower. That site was just a forum and we had no forum so it was a nice match. Soon though we started to max out our bandwidth so with the help of many friends from the site (Shinn, Su, Devtek…
we tried to build a new site on a new host but there were cpu usage issues so it was abandoned in the summer of 2009.
In the end what brought down the site as a series of repetitive mass file deletions from megaupload for an unknown reason. I fought this tried to keep the site open for about a month before giving up/having run out of options. I closed the site for good on December 5, 2009, but got an email from FMA1394 saying he wanted to give it a shot. He tried for a while to rebuild or move the site, but gave up as well on March 8, 2010. Before it's fall this site revieved a little over 100,000 unique visitors in October 2009 averaging 3348 people a day.
Currently I act as an archive uploader at AnimeSheshi.

Apparently the same jerk is having fun with us and reporting literally everything. For example, ALL of the animes that start with A are dead.
Any suggestions as to what is going on would be appreciated.

Starting next week, I won't be posting updates here on the freewebs version of anime-stop, instead they will be posted at the new anime-stop at http://a-s.blindsniper35.com (click on news).
This is a duplicate from the news entry on the new site for those that still check updates here at the old anime-stop:
Progress Update
------------------------
All of the anime through Buzzer Beater 2007 is done. Will hopefully knock out c and d later tomorrow.
On a side note, I NEED SOMEONE to help me with checking stuff on the site (e.g. I need some staff members). If you have a brain, like anime-stop, and want to help out, please contact me on IRC (link on left) or on the forums (also, link on left).

So now we have a forum, IRC link, and a working CMS (still working on it but functional) over at the new anime stop.
Anime-Stop is now at a more sensible domain, http://a-s.blindsniper35.com
GO THERE NOW AND CHECK IT OUT

Let's just say this is going to take awhile to port over.
Couple of reasons why this is so:
1. the source code for each page of Anime-Stop on freewebs is wonkish and sometimes different from each other. I'm trying to correct some mistakes and/or irregularities as I enter each page into the SQL database. This most likely is not caboose17's fault and is instead the fault of the stupid freewebs editor.
2. Waiting on the owner of the server to fix the CSS and get me database access so I can install some forum software, maybe a bugzilla, and a cutenews content management system for the front page.
3. There's a lot of stuff on anime-stop. There is an enormous collection of anime on Anime-Stop--just take a look at the list carefully if you have never done so.
I look forward to your continued support in this tedious transition process--I promise it will get much better once we are ported over to a real server.
As for getting in touch with me... I would love to answer any questions anyone from Anime-Stop has--publicy or privately. As with the new transitions, I would like to fork off from the typical content management system comments that we have been using and adopt an IRC (Internet Relay Chat) model. This does not mean that the content management system will go away, but I feel some may be more comfortable or open to a closer community in the form of Internet Chatrooms.
That being said, the current IRC channel we will be using is #Anime-Stop on irc.blindsniper35.com (Use mIRC, XChat, irssi, mibbit, or other client to connect). SSL is available on port 9999 and non-ssl on 6667. I hope to see a few people join in.
Please keep in mind that I may not respond to you immediately on IRC! This does not mean I am ignoring you, I'm just not at my machine--I keep IRC open 24/7.
Peace out...

OK, so I have determined that Freewebs is not appropriate for what I want to do. Currently, my friend BlindSniper35 is working on the new site. It is going to be a conversion over to PHP+SQL database and have a new content management system for the front page. He just started the new coding & porting over last night. You can watch the progress at http://test.blindsniper35.com
When it is finished, we will be doing updates again. Please stay tuned.

Hello one and all. This is Caboose.
We are now about 3 weeks onto the winter season and i figured that I would share the Fansub Group pics for each of the new shows for those that don't want to research themselves.
Baka to Test to Shokanju: Mochi or gg
Really either of these are good. Mochi has a much more accurate translation, but they tend to fall behind a lot on series. gg is always quick, and while not as accurate it is much more interesting to read.
Chu-Bra: Doki
Doki is a good quality group and about the only group besides the strait CR rippers. I haven't used them much before as they are pretty new but they look promising.
Cobra: Horrible
What can i say no one else is subbing it yet
Dance in the Vampire Bund: Koharubi
They have done some good work on past projects and it is less confusing than SFW which had 2 versions out then a joint with Chihiro with another 2 versions
Durarara!!: Frostii
Frostii's work seemed a little bellow there average for this series, but was still above the rest.
Hanamaru Kindergarten: Commie
CR scripts with slight editing and set to higher quality video.
Hidamari Sketch 3: Nutbladder
Same staff that did the first 2 series
Ladies vs Butlers: Doki
The other group is a new no name group and Doki is releasing 1st and their release is better
Nodame Cantabile Finale: Frostii
BSS is releasing a little quicker it seems (a few hours), but i just liked the flow of Frostii better
Omamori Himari: SFW
Well you have commie, SFW, and to new groups for this one. SFW has had decent quality on all their shows i have watched so far and i tend to avoid new groups so i went with SFW
Ookami Kakushi: Frostii
I actually liked Formula's release better and it is coming out faster, but they have dropped more shows than they have completed. I feel that with gg and frostii also subbing the show there is a high chance that Formula will drop. If you feel like taking the chance though Formula is a good choice as well
Reform Without Wasted Draws: gg
no one else is subbing it
Seikon no Qwaser: SFW-Yus
I had high hopes for the chibi-doki release, but there were lines missing which is unexceptionable. If they release a 2v i may try them again
Sora no Woto: YuS-m.3.3.w
This show was kinda hard to pic. Nekomimi and Fubiki are also good releases, but for quality and release speed i decided to go with YuS. If you don't like the phrasing of YuS i think Nekomimi was the next best.

To all our fans/members, I should have let you know that I'm not going to be doing updates until Sunday, Dec 20 because I have to prepare to fly back down to my home state of Alabama (I'm in New York) for winter break. Sorry for not letting all you guys know earlier.

Since digzip seems to be OK, let's try megaupload again. These are not reuploaded. These are new releases new to the site.

I don't know exactly how Caboose did the banners (going to ask him about that later), but here is my first attempt at a solution:
Mobile Suit Gundam 00 [reupload]
Episode 1: Part 1 Part 2 Part 3
Keep in mind that I may change the way I do this. If I use only hosts on digZIP that support 200MB files, I can have bigger splits and less files for each ep. DO NOT JUMP DOWN MY THROAT! This is simply an experiment! If it does not work, I will try something else.

Caboose has handed over site ownership to me, FMA1394. I am currently working on using a new file hosting site that allegedly does not care about piracy and is in Russia. uploads to multiple file hosting sites. Stay tuned for more anime!
Peace out...

It now seems painfully apparent that this is simply not going to end easily. We are on our fourth week since this all started and the person reporting links shows no sign of giving up. I tried links protectors, but I don't like them. They are riddled with ads and i'm proud of the fact that I kept this site add free for 2 1/2 years. For the last time making log in mandatory doesn't do anything cause all he has to do is log in. Also for the last time, I can't ban him people this is freewebs. It is like trying to ban someone from facebook or myspace, you just don't have the power.
This is not another ploy...well neither was the last one, i had every intention of keeping the site closed then. I never use the same trick twice and the site will not be reopened, at least not by me. Before I get sent a ton of emails saying don't close the site, think about if you would be willing to put in the amount of work needed to keep this site running only to see it deleted time and time again. If you are, let me know and i will give you the fucking site. Seriously!
To whomever is reporting the links, I really can't rap my head around what you are doing. If you are attacking us cause we are an anime site and you think we are evil there are much larger and more popular sites. I just don't see why target a little freewebs site. If you are from an anime company, you really took a round about way to do this. I mean you could have just had the site closed down and saved yourself 3 weeks. Lastly, and I think this is the case, if you are just some random person that I pissed off I honestly can't think of what I did that was so horrible that you feel the need to mess with 2 years of work, and mostly hurt all the people that use the site. If you read this I would be interested in knowing what the hell sparked all of this.
I have disabled the comments on this cause we got more than enough damn drama to last a life time with the last closing notice.
